Hello!I'd like to first thank you for visiting my portfolio and taking the time to view what talents I can bring to the table.
My Name is Luiza Deslate, more known by my peers as "Lui."
I graduated college in February 2026 as Cum Laude. My Degree, Bachelor of Science in Entertainment and Multimedia Computing, is essentially game development. I love games so much, I decided to make it a career.I am a writer, community-driven creative, and games industry professional with experience in content creation, player engagement, game development, and digital media. My background has allowed me to work across different sides of the industry, from writing and community management to game testing, localization, and building games of my own, giving me a strong understanding of both player expectations and the work that goes into creating meaningful experiences. At the center of all of it is a lifelong passion for video games. I grew up immersed in iconic AAA franchises such as The Last of Us, the God of War series, Grand Theft Auto, Monster Hunter, and Pokémon, while my appreciation for the medium extends just as deeply into indie games, experimental projects, and even community-made mods that often push creativity in unexpected ways. Whether it is a blockbuster release, a passion project from a small studio, or a mod built by a dedicated community, I am constantly inspired by the stories, systems, and communities that make gaming such a powerful form of entertainment.
I write about video games
Writing became something much bigger for me when I started working in real communities and media spaces. During my internship at Wazzup PH, I had the opportunity to create content that reached real audiences, from feature articles and social media posts to event coverage and community-driven stories. It taught me how to write with both creativity and purpose, making sure every piece was not only informative but also engaging enough to start conversations.
At the same time, I was also exploring a different side of writing through game development. Throughout college, I helped write and design original game projects, creating game design documents, worldbuilding concepts, gameplay systems, narratives, and production documentation that turned ideas into playable experiences. From pitching concepts to developing full student projects, this taught me how writing could shape not just stories, but the very foundation of how games are built and experienced.
As i gained actual industry experience, that foundation evolved into something even bigger. I had the opportunity to create content that informed, engaged, and connected with readers through articles, social media posts, and event coverage. More than simply sharing updates, I saw writing as a way to bring news, stories, and meaningful conversations to both longtime fans and those just discovering the industry for the first time. Whether covering major announcements, community events, or emerging trends, I approached every piece with genuine excitement for gaming, entertainment, and the ever-changing culture surrounding it, always aiming to be a trusted voice that helps people stay connected to the industry I care deeply about.
New Products intern experience
During my internship at Tencent under Level Infinite, I had the opportunity to support live game operations from behind the scenes, working closely with player communities, internal teams, and global content initiatives. While much of the specific titles, testing processes, and project details remain confidential under NDA, the experience gave me valuable insight into how major games are supported at a global scale. My contributions included compiling and analyzing daily player feedback, identifying recurring community sentiments, contributing localization ideas to help content resonate across different audiences, and assisting with social media content that kept players informed, engaged, and connected to the games they love.
